Permanent Secretary Lauds Defence Projects

The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Mrs Rosette Byengoma, has visited the MODVA/UPDF stall at the Kololo Independence Grounds, where the Defence Ministry is participating in the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) three-day exhibition held under the theme: ‘Appreciating Uganda’s Taxpayer: The Nexus between Public Accounting and Tax Compliance’

Mrs Byengoma, appreciated the creativity and innovation by the staff of the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs. She commended National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) subsidiaries, especially UZIMA water for selling the high quality natural mineral water at a lower price compared to other types of water on the market.
At the UPDF Spouses Desk, she advised the spouses to link up with Mrs Susan Muhwezi, Senior Presidential Advisor on Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and identify profitable avenues through which to market their products.

Relatedly, senior military students from the Zambia Defence Service Command and Staff College, led by Col Peter Kavuma, also had a guided tour of the exhibition, and commended the UPDF for its positive involvement in activities supporting socio-economic transformation. The officers are visiting Uganda on a study tour that ends on 30th October 2017.
